Co-Founder, Grand Insurance Agency
Raised in Maspeth, Queens, Vinny LaPuma has always been deeply connected to his local community. A graduate of Cathedral Prep, he played both basketball and baseball, helping lead his teams to multiple championships. He remains actively involved with the school through leadership roles and ongoing support of its programs and initiatives.
Vinny began his college career at Iona College and graduated from Queens College with a degree in Accounting. He started in accounting and auditing before co-founding Grand Insurance Agency with longtime friend Gary Lombardo in 2007. Together, they built the agency into a trusted name known for reliable coverage and personal service.
In addition to insurance, Vinny is a licensed real estate professional with Nest Seekers International, with over $50 million in closed sales. He lives on Long Island with his wife and two children.
Co-Founder, Grand Insurance Agency
Born and raised in Middle Village, Queens, Gary Lombardo has strong roots in the community he proudly serves. A graduate of Cathedral Prep, he developed a foundation in discipline, accountability, and teamwork, along with a lifelong passion for basketball. He later attended Iona College, where he played on the men’s basketball team and earned a degree in Finance.
Gary began his career with New York Life and later worked at Smith Barney, gaining valuable experience in finance and insurance. In 2007, he co-founded Grand Insurance Agency with longtime friend Vinny LaPuma. What began as a small operation has grown into a trusted agency known for honest guidance and personalized service.
Gary also co-founded the Joseph Lombardo Memorial Scholarship Foundation in honor of his father, supporting local students in academics and athletics. He lives in Middle Village with his wife and son.
